Cathodic protection station is aimed at electrochemical (cathodic) protection of pipelines and other underground metal structures from rust.
Principal features of cathodic protection stations:
- Stations may have single and two channels;
- Output power of the station is chosen from standard values: 0,63 кWt, 1,0 кWt, 1,6 кWt, 2,5 кWt, 3,2 кWt, 5,0 kWt;
- Stations are made in standard metal cases with protection degree JP 44 in unit modular version;
- Stations are equipped with alarm system;
- Uniform illumination of signal shows normal operation of the station and closed door of casing; interruptions in signal illumination shows damage in station or unauthorised access inside;
- Microclimate is provided inside the station, i.e. in summer time to avoid overheating ventilator turns on and in winter time – heating turns on.

Units and modules of the stations КЗ
Cathodic station consists of two units:
1) electronic unit ЭБ-1;
2) power unit СБ-1.
Electronic unit consists from six functionally complete modules:
1) power supply unit МП-01;
2) automation unit МА-02;
3) control module МУ-03;
4) measurement module МИ-04;
5) check module МК-06;
6) telemetry module МТ-08.
Power unit consists of two
1) protection module МЗ-05;
2) regulation module МР-07.
Unit modular structure significantly facilitates maintenance and repair of cathodic station. Units and modules are easily changed without soldering (by means of detachable and screw joints). Maximum control of operation and state of the station by means of indication of the light-emitting diode. Modules of cathodic stations are fastened on the respective boards with inputs of control, indication and check modules, which are marked with special graphic signs.
In cathodic station with telemetry a supplementary module of telemetry МТ-08 is added, it assures collection and transfer of modified parameters to the computer and transfer of control commands to cathodic station from computer.
Feeding, output and measurement circuits of cathodic station is protected by automatic switches, air arresters and special elements.
Electric connection of cathodic station to the protection object is carried out by connection to the respective elements of standard assembly in accordance with the scheme given in the station’s certificate.
